Butterfly Hearts is a coming-of-age novel that every young girl should read as her first romance. It is a book about self-love and discovery that deals with the innate sense of girlhood some go through, where everything is about other people and never them. It deals with themes of unrequited love, has love letters and possibly only one sane choice to make to live a fulfilling life in the end.

Sona is an eighteen-year-old girl who's biggest secret is her unrequited feelings she has for her best friend's brother. Woeful poetry only keeps her sane because she could never really confess something that could destroy her relationship with her best friend— until someone else challenges her idea and everything she knew of relationships.
